Maya Bay Tour
Join us on this Maya Bay Tour for a full day out on the Andaman Sea. Hope on a Traditional Thai Longtail boat and discover the best sights Phi Phi has to offer. Unlike other tours, we won’t try to squeeze everything on this tour. Instead, you can take it at a slower pace and get amazed by the most beautiful places you will ever see.
During this tour, you will snorkel in the blue waters of Pilleh Lagoon and even have the change to swim with reef sharks at the Shark Point (don’t worry, they’re friendly!). You will get to see the wild monkeys on ‘Saam Haad’ beach and learn the history of the Viking Cave.
Maya Bay started to be famous after ‘The Beach’ was filmed there. You will stay here for 3 hours, which is much more time than any other tour will offer. Explore, swim, or relax on the soft white sand of this paradise. There is even a secret viewpoint you can hike to, with which most other tours you simply wouldn’t have time.
To finish the day, you will watch the most perfect sunset over the Andaman Sea. When it’s dark enough, you will be taken to see one of Koh Phi Phi’s best-kept secrets. At this exclusive spot, you will have the opportunity to swim at night with glowing plankton, lighting up the water as you move.
This is the only tour where you will stay long enough and be on one of the last boats to leave the Maya Bay and avoid the crowds. If you are looking for something a bit different then this is defiantly the tour for you!
Sadly but for good reason, Maya Bay will be closed from June 1 until Sept 30, 2018. The tiny beach has become popular over the decades after the movie The Beach was filmed there.
The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation has ordered the closure of this world-class tourist beach in a bid to give it “a rest” from the number of tourists attracted by its beauty every day.
The four-month closure was necessary after it became apparent the bay’s fragile marine ecological system had been severely damaged by the amount of boats parking in front of the beach.
A new boat parking site at Losama Bay, which is located close to Maya Bay, will be constructed so tourists can follow a trail to Maya Bay. A plan to rehabilitate the coral reef is also underway.
