Huay Tung Tao Bike Tour in Chiang Mai
Enjoy a day out and cycle to this peaceful lake surrounded by bamboo huts. Huay Tung Tao Bike Tour in Chiang Mai is the perfect choice for those who want to have a late start of the day. Starting from the historic Old City of Chiang Mai, you will cycle out to the forested foothills of Doi Suthep. Although the terrain inside the city is flat, once the bike tour leaves there are some moderate hills on country roads and bike paths.
Pedal along some of Chiang Mai’s newest bike lanes all the way to a forest-covered bicycle trail and up to the Huay Tung Tao creek reservoir. After a spin around the lake, you will be catching your breath and sit down for some shoreside lunch with several Thai dishes. And perhaps a swim? Although the water is not very clean, you can swim or dip your feet in the water in certain areas.
On the way back to Chiang Mai, you will stop at a Rose Garden, where a Thai family still grow these colorful flowers since many years ago, to be sold at the Flower Market. Finish the day cycling through rice paddies and vegetable gardens on small back lanes and alleys to experience a bit of the non-touristy parts of Chiang Mai.

🌧 You still need to turn up for the tour if it’s raining. It is quite common that it can be raining in one part of the city but not in another, so if there is rain at your hotel don’t assume it is raining where you will be cycling. Also, it is common that the rain falls heavily and for short durations so if it does rain we just wait and continue the tour once the rain stops. We also have plastic rain ponchos for everyone in the case that you do need to ride in the rain.
