Bangkok City Tour & Temples
This Bangkok City Tour & Temples is a great way to begin your exploration of this megacity’s true heart. It covers the three major temples of Bangkok: Wat Traimit, Wat Pho and Wat Phra Kaew, and of course a visit to the Royal Grand Palace.
Kick off early in the morning and arrive at the first destination of the day, Wat Traimit, located in the busy Yaworat district of Bangkok (China Town). Visit the temple of the golden Buddha with 5.5 tonnes of solid gold, sculptured in Sukhothai style. Drive through Indian town and admire The Flower Market.
After the nice drive, you will proceed to Wat Pho, famous for its Thai massage school and its giant reclining Buddha. It’s one of the largest temple complexes in the city and the enormous reclining Buddha measures 46 meters long and is covered in gold leaf.
You will also visit Wat Benchamabophit, which interior is decorated with cross beams of lacquer and gold typifying “the perfect architecture of Thai art”. The temple was built from marbles imported from Italy, and that is the reason why the temple is commonly known among foreign tourists as The Marble Temple. Then, you will visit a local store and eat a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, you will head over to visit the stunning Royal Grand Palace, a complex of buildings that have been the official residence of the Kings of Siam since 1782. Over the years many additions have been made, including the stunning Wat Phra Kaew which houses the Emerald Buddha carved out of a single piece of Jade! Here you will have plenty of time to visit other attractions, such as the Coronation Throne Hall, Royal Reception Hall, Royal Funeral Hall, the Golden Chedi and the Royal Pantheon. At the end of the day, you will be transferred back to your accommodation in Bangkok.
